Say hello to the new industrial era.
Commissioned in 1915 by Kirkman & Son Soap Company, 37 Bridge Street is the best looking 96 year old in Brooklyn. In classic daylight factory style, this simple brick facade building is representative of the factory architecture of its time and remains a neighborhood icon. Alexander Kirkman's decision to move his company to Brooklyn grew the business ten fold, putting Kirkman & Sons on the map as one of the country's leading soap producers. To this day, the original manufacturing cylices remain in the building, and the logo recalls the soap's archetypal octagon shape, preserving the family name and its place in history.
