My son is moving to NY from CA to attend law school this August. Our apartment search began the end of May. We started exploring websites, social media and real estate offices. We quickly learned the competitive nature of the rental market and also how difficult it is to secure an apartment at a reasonable area for a sensible price.

Warren responded to my son’s inquiry for an apartment and offered a time for him to do a virtual showing through zoom. He was upfront about his fee and sent me legal disclosures immediately. During the viewing, it was incredible to see the large group of people attending the open house of a tiny studio apartment. He navigated through the crowd, explained the area and spent an impressive amount of time with us. We lost out on getting the apartment since an application was already submitted within hours.

Fast forward, after exhausting weeks of searching, our son found a “no real estate fee” website that led us to believe that would save us money. The person, Jack, who we contacted was rude, unprofessional and identified himself as the property management so that’s why there isn’t a fee. That said, we secured the apartment after our application was approved. We felt like we were cheating on Warren after he spent a lot of time showing us other places in the meantime. When we were asked for payment via Venmo and not to send to a business, we got worried. We also requested to have a family member see it and Jack kept telling us that it was occupied. Before we sent him over $7k, I reached out to Warren. I admitted to him what was happening and asked him if he would be willing to view the very apartment that we cheated on him with and he obliged!

Ultimately, we didn’t secure the “no real estate fee” apartment and I feel like we dodged a world of trouble with Jack. Warren continued to search for us without a hitch and made us feel like a top priority. He answered our calls on the weekends, messaged us daily and found the perfect apartment. His fee was not only worth every penny, we also paid a little more so he could be recognized for going above and beyond.

When talking to our friends and family in NY, many of them said it’s nearly impossible to get an apartment from out of state. It isn’t just about having the money and credit, but it’s also having the right professional on your side. We cannot thank Warren enough for his work, sense of urgency and caring he gave to us. While he made us feel special, I believe he treats everyone like this.
